About Me

I was raised in rural Geauga County with a lake full of blue gill, where all the neighborhood kids fished,  across the street from my parents two acre home.  The Chagrin River, horses, organic garden, wild berry bushes and the woods with accompanying wildlife were all in my backyard.  My Mother worked for the county Humane Society while at home she did her own canning, preserving and pickling and also found hundreds of recipes for my Father’s prolific zucchini patch.  I was in 4-H and spent a week camping at the county fair with my horse every summer.  I am a country girl, and an aging Gen-X er.  I am also university educated, my previous careers being in business management, corporate training, and make-up artistry.

I created Nurture Eco-daycare because it offers what I looked for in a child care facility, and did not find.  After having my first child in 2004, and my second child in 2008 I developed this plan to avoid having to compromise my beliefs in organics, sustainable living, and mindful child care. Realizing the need for an eco-based child care facility in Niagara Region I wanted to provide this service for my community, and other like minded families.  I have found having children to be a transformative experience, my passion in life is raising safe, healthy, and hopefully brilliant children while working towards ensuring they have a sustainable future.
